First interview of the year, baby! In this episode of the podcast, we chat with Alex Llull about how the best creators get inspired by others to create content that grows their audience and business.
- Look at inspiration instead of competition
- How to steal from others in order to create your own thing
- The power of selling something before you create it
So much to cover as we come back for the third year of the podcast, and Steph joins Fab once again taking effectively the reigns as co-host. After some good potato chat (no, for real) Fab has a chat with the fantastic Alex Llull from the Steal Club.
Look at inspiration instead of competition
When it comes to creativity, it’s important to look at what inspires you rather than what intimidates you. Comparing yourself to others can only lead to frustration and a lack of creativity. Instead, try to find inspiration in everything around you and let that guide your creative process.
How to ethically “steal” from others to create your own thing
One way to be more creative is to “steal” from others. You don’t want to take someone’s idea and pass it off as your own, but there’s nothing wrong with taking inspiration from others and turning it into something new. In fact, many famous creators have gotten their start by borrowing ideas from others.
The power of selling something before you create it
Another way to be more creative is to sell an idea before you’ve even created it. This may seem like a risky move, but it can actually be a great way to jumpstart the creative process. By putting your idea out there and getting people excited about it, you’ll be more motivated to see it through to completion.
