Why BeReal as a marketer is NOT that glamorous

The rise of BeReal

It had 1.7 million downloads during the week of July 11, the biggest weekly gain ever, according to data shared with Fast Company by digital analytics platform Sensor Tower.

It turns out that being real as a marketer is NOT that glamorous.

The contentious hats on as they ask themselves: do we need to make Instagram “great again”? Instagram might have halted its redesign, but that doesn’t mean the company plans to stop focusing on full-screen content. During his weekly Ask Me Anything today, CEO Adam Mosseri confirmed that Instagram will begin testing ultra-tall 9:16 photos “in a week or two.”

They also share their options on Instagram’s new payments feature, letting users buy products via DMs. 

How to use Reel templates

On a positive note, both Fab and Jess rejoice as Instagram expands access to Reels Templates and adds new music recommendations for Reels clips. 

Over the last month, Instagram has been giving more users access to its Reels ‘Templates’ option, which enables you to create Reels based on popular content formats in the app. It’s not just Meta leaning into short-form video.

 YouTube is also looking to encourage more short clips via a new option that will enable creators to convert segments of their existing long-form content into minute-long Shorts variations.
