The Instagram update train shows no signs of easing up, as last week, they launched a brand new feature for profiles, after focusing on a variety of new stories features.
The Guides feature will enable selected businesses and creators to highlight recommendations and tips. Moreover, it will present the content in a new, dedicated tab. To kick off this new feature, Instagram will be first focusing on Guides with wellness content. As per the latest Instagram blog release:
We want Instagram to be a place where you can easily find reliable information and inspiration from your favorite accounts. That’s why we are introducing Guides, a way to more easily discover recommendations, tips and other content from your favorite creators, public figures, organizations and publishers on Instagram.
Chosen partners will now display a new tab on their profiles. In order to help with this, the Guides tab will highlight collections of posts under dedicated topic tiles – which has a Pinterest-like feel to it.

Instagram Guides for Creatives
By selecting an Instagram Guide, you’ll be able to create a curated list of posts and put them together in a scrollable feed. This means you can use guides to highlight a specific topic, or showcase your expertise through Instagram in a fun, new, engaging way and drive traffic to your old posts as well.
Some of the first Guides include one from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention called “Mental Health and COVID-19″. This guide collects the group’s content into a single, easy-to-find place. Heads Together, a mental health group, has similar Guides that collect Instagram posts reminding viewers to be kind to each other, practice self-care, and talk about how they feel.
Guides will be slowly rolling out in your Explore Page Feed and will be open to selected partners first – while the initial launch is focused on wellbeing, it could also become another platform for showcasing your products and services.
Globally, partners include e-Enfance (France), Headspace (Australia), Heads Together (U.K.), Kilcksafe (Germany), The Live Love Laugh Foundation (India), SudahDong (Indonesia) and Vita Alere (Brazil).
